Josepha Madigan was appointed as Minister of State for Education with responsibility for special education and inclusion on July 1st 2020. ​Following her election to the Dáil for the first time in 2016, Josepha was appointed to the Fine Gael Government Formation negotiation team by former-Taoiseach Enda Kenny. ​Prior to her appointment as Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in 2017, Josepha served on the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee, the Future of Healthcare Committee, and was the Chairperson of the Budgetary Oversight Committee. ​She was a Fine Gael Councillor for the Stillorgan Ward on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, from May 2014 until her election as a T.D. Josepha practiced as a solicitor for twenty years. She won Family Lawyer of the year at the Irish Law Awards 2014. ​Josepha is also an author of a handbook for family lawyers and their clients entitled “Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Ireland” (Jordan Publishing, 2012). She studied at Mount Anville School, Trinity College Dublin and Blackhall Place. Josepha is a strong advocate of responsible governance and prudent spending. Josepha believes in a society that is progressive and creative but also in a government that is careful with tax-payers money and focused on building sound economic policies that make work pay. ​osepha would like to see extended support for the self- employed and working parents with childcare costs. He has been a qualified solicitor in private practice for over 20 years and has been elected by his peers to sit on the Council of the Law Society of Ireland, the governing body for Irish solicitors.

Having studied Science in University College Dublin at undergraduate level, David specialised in biochemistry, completing his thesis and obtaining an honours degree in 2008. David worked in both the pharmaceutical and technology sectors before transitioning to law, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Dublin Institute of Technology, and qualifications in both Intellectual Property, and IT Law from the Law Society of Ireland. David joined John Gaynor & Co Solicitors in 2011, was called to the Roll of Solicitors in December 2014 and became an Equity Partner in January 2016. David is a general practitioner, qualified to practice in Ireland, England and Wales, and operates in all areas of law with particular expertise in the areas of Personal Injury, Defamation, Intellectual Property, and Commercial & Residential Property transactions.
